Buddhike Illangatillake

Founder partner of IP Chambers, Buddhike with extensive litigation practice, brings to the firm vast knowledge in Intellectual Property (Trademark infringement and Unfair Competition, Patents, Industrial Designs, Copyright and Geographical Indications, prosecution of office actions and oppositions at the National Intellectual Property Office). Having graduated from Sri Lanka Law College in 1999 and called to the Bar in 2000, he has over the past 16 years gained extensive experience as a trial lawyer and has worked under leading Commercial and Intellectual Property law practitioners in Sri Lanka. His other areas of practice include Arbitration, Commercial Litigation, Contracts and Agreements, Mergers & Acquisition.

He holds an LL.M in Intellectual Property and Commercial Law from the University of West London (2015) and an LL.M in International Trade Law from the University of Wales (2009). He is a Member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), International Intellectual Property Law Association (IIPLA), Bar Association of Sri Lanka and Colombo Law Society.

Achala Madhuwanthi

An Associate at IP CHAMBERS, Achala graduated from Staffordshire University, United Kingdom with LLB Second Class Honors and was enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.

Achala specializes in Intellectual Property Law and has successfully completed the Diploma on Intellectual Property conducted by World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO Academy). She has wide experience in prosecution of office actions in relation to trademarks with the National Intellectual Property Office and representing clients both local and international in Courts in commercial litigation. She is also conversant in the area of Patent and has successfully completed the Diploma on Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) conducted by WIPO Academy.

She is also a Life Member of Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL).

Eraj Gunewardena

An Associate at IP Chambers, Eraj graduated from the University of London with LLB Second Class Honors. While holding a Diploma in International Relations, Eraj was enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.

Eraj specializes in Intellectual Property Law and has wide experience in prosecution of office actions in relation to trademarks with the National Intellectual Property Office and representing clients both local and international in Courts in commercial litigation.

He is also a member of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL).
