An Associate at IP CHAMBERS, Achala graduated from Staffordshire University, United Kingdom with LL.B Second Class Honors and was enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. She has also completed her master’s degree (LL.M) at the University of Colombo focusing Intellectual Property, Company, and International Trade Law.

Achala specializes in Intellectual Property Law and has successfully completed Advanced International Diploma on “Intellectual Property Asset Management for Business Success” jointly conducted by Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST), Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) and WIPO Academy.

She has wide experience in the prosecution of office actions in relation to trademarks, patents, and Industrial Designs with the National Intellectual Property Office and in other jurisdictions.

Her other areas of practice include IP Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Contracts & Agreements, and she represents both local and international clients in Courts in commercial litigation.

She is also a Life Member of Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL).
