Biography

Chathuri is a Senior Associate at IP Chambers with extensive experience in both advisory and litigation aspects of Intellectual Property law. She holds an LL.B (Second Class Honours) from the University of London, and was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. She also earned an LL.M from the University of Colombo, focusing on Intellectual Property, Criminal Justice, and Human Rights, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Law at the same university.

Chathuri began her legal career as a Legal Research Assistant under the guidance of a respected judge at the Judges’ Institute of Sri Lanka. Her prior experience includes working in both the Notarial and Litigation divisions of a leading Colombo-based law firm and serving over three years as a Legal Officer in the Child Protection Unit of the Attorney General’s Department.

At IP Chambers, she handles a diverse portfolio of IP matters, with particular expertise in trademark, patent, and industrial design prosecutions—both in Sri Lanka and internationally. Her wider practice includes IP litigation, commercial litigation, and contractual advisory.
