Biography

Buddhike is the founding partner of IP Chambers, bringing nearly 25 years of experience in Intellectual Property Law. Since being called to the Bar in 2000, he has built a distinguished legal career grounded in deep expertise and a commitment to protecting innovation and commercial value.

He began his professional journey after graduating from Sri Lanka Law College in 1999, and was privileged to train under some of Sri Lanka’s leading practitioners in Commercial and Intellectual Property Law. This mentorship laid the foundation for his own practice, which now serves a broad spectrum of local and international clients.

In addition to Intellectual Property, Buddhike’s areas of practice include Arbitration, Commercial Litigation, Contracts and Agreements, and Mergers & Acquisitions. His academic credentials include an LL.M in Intellectual Property and Commercial Law from the University of West London (2015), and an LL.M in International Trade Law from the University of Wales (2009).

He is a member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the International Trademark Association (INTA), International Intellectual Property Law Association (IIPLA), the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, and the Colombo Law Society.
